Aratea text: Excerptum de astrologia; De ordine ac positione

Parchment — 115 fols. — 280 × 180 mm — Sankt Lambrecht — s. XII

Support: Quire mark (?) on f. 112v in the lower margin. Modern foliation with pencil at the top right corner of every folium. Holes in the parchment partly sewed up.

Layout: Written in 30 long lines. Blind ruling with prikings visible in the outher margin. Red rubrics and initials. On f.115v a charter transcript about a gift made by Burkards von Mureck to the monastery St. Lambrecht. Published by Johann Loserth, "Kleine steiermärkische Nekrologien und nekrologische Notizen," in Beiträge zur Kunde steiermärkischer Geschichtsquellen 26 (1894): 3-20.

Binding: Gothic leather binding (probably s. XIV). The binding was renewed in August 1958 by bookbinder Kümmler, who added two clasps (see note in pencil on f. 115v).

History: The manuscript was written ins. XII1, probably in the Benedictine monastery of St. Lambrecht. See the exlibris on the front paste-down "Librum istum sancti lamberti et fratrum eius quisquis ui uel furto abstulerit anathema sit" (s. XII2.

Red initials and rubricated titles. Manicula as in f. 3r, 5v etc.

9v-111v Bede: De temporum ratione Incipit praefatio De natura rerum et ratione temporum duos quondam stricto sermone libellos … — … eternam cuncti celestium praemiorum mereamut accipere palmam. Explicit domino iuvante bede presbyteri liber de temporibus feliciter. Many contemporary interlienar glosses to the first chapters (untill f.29r). Decorated initials on ff. 9v, 11v. Diagram on f. 18v illustrating the shadow cast onto the moon during night.
